You need a pair of Red/Cyan or Red/Blue
Anaglyph glasses to view these
photographs correctly. All anaglyph
images on this site will be tagged thus
Scroll down to view them. For the best
depth, view at about arms length from
your monitor. Due to the technical
limitations of the anaglyph some
images will be in black & white. |
The
ANAGLYPH 3D STEREO system, the one with the Red/Cyan
(or Red/Blue) glasses is one the most commonly used
on the Internet (although being one of the most imperfect), and
doesn't require much equipment to work, just cheap
glasses. Theimages on this site have been taken
either with two digital cameras mounted
side-by-side, hand operated (but not synchronized for
now) or a digital camera mounted on a Bogen slide
bar. The pictures are taken singly with a lateral
movement of the camera after the first pic has been
taken. Both methods produce a stereo pair which can
be viewed in a special viewer, or with a bit of
practice 'free' viewed without any aids at all some.
For this web site I have converted the 'pair' to
anaglyph format and optimized for the best viewing with cheap
Red/Cyan glasses. The use of more precise Red/Blue
glasses may reduce or eliminate ghosting in most
cases.

Definition:
Anaglyphs are still or moving
pictures where the red and blue channels have been
split and then reassembled so that the image appears
three-dimensional when viewed through 3D glasses
with red and blue or red and green lenses.

No glasses? No problem. I have 'free'
cardboard top quality red/cyan glasses
to give away, although I charge for the
P&P, £1.25. If you want one or more
pairs, send me your address and pay the
P&P via the Paypal button. Anaglyph
glasses are also for sale on E-bay or by
one of the many specialist 3d Stereo
businesses on the web. |
